| Dear client According to the new rules from BRAZIL P&I that come into force on September 2024 all ships must follow the regulations for ballast analysis and collection as described in Ordinance 163 More specifically every ship in Brazil’s Waters and ports must collect and analyze the Ballast water in the port terminal with approved equipment as referred in the code respecting the principle of non-penalty in force during the Experience Building Phase (EBP). The frequency of collections will be defined together with the ship operator, not exceeding the monthly periodicity, and the collection and analysis of the samples will be carried out by personnel of this specialized Directorate and the military of the Captaincies, with expertise in the subject, and may also be carried out by the ship/terminal personnel, as instructed by the specialists. |
